Well yesterday we had another incident, but this time it was with our littlest boy. Dommy fell and needed stitches on his knee. Earlier that morning, I decided to go through tubs of Eli's old clothes. Dom is starting to go into 24 month size, so I thought I would see what I had for him for this fall/winter. Which turned out to be more than I thought it would be! I barely have to buy much for him, bonus! But anyway, I had just finished up doing what needed to be done upstairs, and Dominic was coming out of his room as I was coming out of Eli's and Dominic just stumbled on his own foot, and fell across one of the metal carpet strips. The only thing I can guess is he had to have scraped his knee on one of the nails that holds the carpet strip down, so after it happened I scooped him up and applied paper towel to it to stop the bleeding. He only fussed for 10 sec. he amazed me, cause it was UGLY! So I called Ross to tell him what happened and I sent him a picture to get his opinion on if he would need stitches or not. He called me back and said yes, he would guess he needs stitches, he was on his way home. I put a band aid on Dom's knee and he was walking around like it was just a scratch. Once Ross got home Dominic and I were off to the Kid First Urgent Care. He ended up getting 3 stitches, and he did so good! There was crying of course, but come on who wouldn't cry getting a needle in your knee and then stitches! I take him to our pediatrician in 10 days (on July 27th) for the stitches to be taken out. Man, it just doesn't stop over here LOL!
Now I didn't update my blog yet on Eli's latest news. Last Friday, we took him to the orthopedist cause his cast was falling apart, and I knew he would need a new one. So I asked the doctor if they could do x-rays on his leg just to make sure he would even need a new cast. So they took more pictures of his leg, and the x-ray showed healing, but not even close to no cast. Lots more healing needed to be made! So they took his big orange cast off and casted him up with a smaller cast (below the knee) and it is waterproof! We had to pay $40 for a waterproof one, but it is well worth it cause Eli can enjoy some of his summer at least! Especailly since his birthday party was only a couple weeks. He needs to wear this new one for 3 more weeks and we go back on Aug. 3rd for more x-rays and hopefully then he will get it off. We have been doing TONS of swimming since the waterproof cast has went on! Its awesome that they have waterproof casts now. The out side of the cast is fiber glass so it doesn't get soft when immersed in water, and the inside of it is a soft mesh like netting, so the water just drains right out of it! Very cool! He can walk on it as well. Im just hoping this one holds together for the next 3 weeks.
I also haven't said anything about our kitty since we actually picked him up. Long story short he was still too little for getting neutered and declawed so they called us and said that we could come and take him home and bring him back in a few weeks to get everything done, when he is a little bigger. So we have had him home with us for about 4 weeks now, and he is the sweetest thing! So nice with the boys, and very loving. Likes lots of snuggles! He can be a stinker, but he is a kitten, thats expected lol! Little girl (our adult female cat) took a good week to a week and a half to warm up to him, but now she doesn't hiss at him and actually will play with him.
And here he is! Toulouse!! Eli originally said he wanted to name him Scat Cat, but then once he got home he changed his name to Toulouse! I think thats all I had to say for an update :)
