Eli turns 3!!

I will never forget buying a pregnancy test and thinking I wasnt pregnant. When it came up positive I was in utter shock and a wave of emotions just ran right through me. I was just so excited we were going to be having a baby! Then the day before Eli was born I also wont forget we were watching a movie and about half way through the movie my water breaks! I remember just being soo soo excited that labor had begun and we were going to be having our sweet baby Eli in arms with a matter of time. We grabbed our bags and took off to the hospital. 10 hrs later at 5:45 in the morning our Eli was welcomed into the world. I cant even describe into words the over flowing love God puts into your heart for your child. It is just overwhelming, but in a good way! I just couldnt take my eyes off of him. Here he was 7 lbs. 11 oz 20 3/4 inches long, LOTS of beautiful dark hair, just absoultley beautiful! We felt so blessed to have a healthy beautiful baby boy (and still do :)). Now today our sweet Eli is 3!! It seriously felt like it went that fast! He was born and now 3! WOW.....time just flys! He has just brought absolute pure joy into our lives :) Now he just LOVES sports, cars, tools, mac n chesse, and now his new thing is Chili dogs....lol! He makes us laugh every day! Happy Birthday Big boy, mommy and daddy love you more than you know and thank God everyday for you!

Cake 3 and 4 and my string of bad luck!

Well these two cakes have some story behind them!! Lets start with cake number 3 which is Dominic's baptisim cake..........I was having about a week and a half of bad luck and I mean really bad luck...lol. I had dropped our nice, expensive cannon camera on the floor and it wouldnt take pictures so we had to have that taken care of. So the next day I made the cake and I went to flip it out of the pan and it sliped right out and broke in half, so I had to make another one, which doesnt seem like a big deal but I also had a million other things going on at this point. But it was finished no problem.
Still working with the frosting, but got a great tip from someone how to smooth it better so on cake 4 it helped a ton!!
Now after I had made cake number 3, not even 2 days later I back into a veichle and do $800 worth of damage to our bumper and light!! Seriously I just could not believe it! Well my brother comes over that day and was just coming down with a cough that then progressed into strep/fever. So my boys came down with high fevers and bad cold! Now I had to make cake number 4. So I did and had it in the cake box planning on frosting it the next day once I got to my mom's. So what do I wake up to first thing in the morning......yep a squished cake!! My fat cat had layed on the box and demolished the cake!! And I had to have the cake frosted and ready by 6 that night for my Aunts surprise b-day party! And to top it off I had two sick kids. I wanted to cry!! But Ross helped me realize that I can do it and it was going to be ok. Well once I got to my moms that morning I got busy making a cake and she helped me A TON with the boys and cleaning up my messes!! So that all being said I did get it done no problem!
So here she is!! I know the "0" is not perfect, but once I was at that point I just wanted to get it done...lol. I am still pretty proud of it though :)

Cake number 2!!

Well I made another cake.....this time it was not only different on the outside but also on the inside. It was a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. It was soo tastey, but not a huge fan of fondant. It isnt so much the taste its the texture. It is chewy if you have never had it before. But it is a lot of fun to work with and use for decorating. It was my mother in-laws birthday on the 8th so I thought I would make her a cake when we went to there place this past week! I had so much fun making it! I cant wait to make another one!

My New Hobby!

Well I have found a new hobby!! Making cakes!! I have always had a intrest for this and thought it was always cool/would be cool to do. So back in high school my grandma got me a little starter kit. It had tips, bags and some food coloring. But this christams my mother in law got me a TON of awesome cake supplies. So I have an actual kit and I can slowly add more too it! Ever since getting all of it, I have been itching to make a cake! Well its a little hard to find the time when you have a 2 1/2 year old and a 2 month old. But I thought yesterday (Sunday) would be a good day to do it cause Ross was home. Well I found out how time consuming it actually is to make a cake. I learned that I sould make the cake one day and frost it the next. I would love to do this full time once all the kids are in school full time. I will have to take some classes, but I would love it!!! Here are some pictures of the very first cake I made. Yes there are things I need to improve, but I am pretty proud of it considering that Dominic was strapped to me for most of it....lol.
The cake cooling off so I can level it and crumb coat it. It is a golden vanialla cake.
I leveled it and cut it in half to put frosting in the middle and started to crumb coat it.
                                                           The finished product!
                                                                  And again!

Soo busy!

Wow its amazing how much work it is when you have two kids. It is quiet the adjustment. I dont have time for myself at all! My alone time is a shower....lol. But I am not complaining. I love it. I know it will get easier once Dominic learns to sleep on his own in his crib instead of on me. That explains why I havent been on the computer much....lol. But I figured I better update my blog! Its been a long time since my last one.
We had a wonderful holiday. We were all sick over chirstmas with a bad cold, but we enjoyed it as much as we could. New Years was better because we all felt better. We were all blessed with many gifts from mom's and dad's/ grandma's and grandpa's and were also blessed to see everyone.
Dominic is growing like crazy! Its amazing how much growing they do! 2 weeks ago he weighed 11 lbs.!! He goes in for his 2 month appointment next Friday the 14th. It will be interesting to see how much weight he has gained inbetween that time. He is really becoming a heartbreaker with his smile! It is the best thing to see! I cant believe he will be 2 months old on Saturday!
Elijah is really becoming a character. He says the funniest things latley! One story is........last week we made a trip to Meijers because we had some gift cards from x-mas and I ended up finding a winter coat on clearance for Eli. So I wanted to try it on him in the store, but he wasnt having it. So I got it anyways and when we got home he was sitting on Ross' lap and I start talking to Eli about his new coat and he puts his hand up and says "Whatever momma." LOL...I couldnt believe it. I busted out laughing. Thats just one of many stories.
We are heading to WI the 15th to my in-laws and staying for 4 days. Cant wait to go. Eli is excited to go to Grandpa nad Grandmas house. Ross has that week off of work so once we come back he is go to start remodling our bathroom upstairs! Cant wait to see the finished product!
Hut, hut, hut.......His new Michigan State Uniform he got from Grandpa and Grandma Sloan for Christmas. He LOVES football.
Giving me his morning smiles :)
There is part of a smile. 8 1/2 weeks old.
